Delete your Method account.

In the app.

1. 1Open Settings. On iPhone and Android, go to the Profile tab and tap Settings at the top. On iPad, choose Settings in the sidebar.
2. 2Tap Delete account… It's under Account, after Sign out.
3. 3Confirm. Enter your password and tap Delete account. If you sign in with Google there's no password to enter; if you sign in with Apple, you confirm with Apple.
4. 4That's it. Your account and its data are deleted straight away, and you're signed out on every device. This can't be undone.

Without the app.

Email jackson@method.study from the address you sign in with and ask us to delete your account. We reply to confirm, then delete the account and all of its data within 30 days. If you can't send from that address, tell us which email the account uses and we'll check it's yours before deleting anything.

What happens to your data.

Deleted

Your account: name, email, password, course and settings. Everything you did in Method: papers, quick sets and scans, the photos and handwriting of your working, marks, mark changes and disputes, progress, weak areas and any feedback you sent from the app. Your sign-in sessions and codes.

When

Straight away when you delete in the app; within 30 days of an email request.

Backups

Copies in our database host's backups, and in OpenAI's logs of the pages it marked, expire within 30 days.

Kept

Nothing linked to you. We keep a running total of what marking costs us, which never records who it was for, and sign-in rate limits, which store only a one-way hash of your email and are removed within a few days.

The waitlist

Joining the waitlist on this website is separate from your account. Email jackson@method.study to leave it; an email deletion request removes both.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Pro subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
