From past paper to feedback in seconds.
Pick any paper
Browse supported IGCSE, AS, A Level and Further maths papers by year, session, paper, variant and component — already filtered to your current syllabus.
Solve it naturally
Choose either workflow — the marking is identical.
Get every mark explained
Method reads your mathematical working and provides examiner-style feedback, mark by mark.
Your method was correct, but a sign error on line 4 caused the final answer to be incorrect.
However you like to work.
Write directly on iPad
RecommendedChoose a past paper, write directly over it using Apple Pencil, and submit your working for instant marking.
- Apple Pencil support
- Natural handwriting
- Mathematical notation
- Step-by-step marking
Scan real paper
Prefer pen and paper? Take a photo on iPhone or Android and Method reads the question and your working automatically — the marked result and feedback land straight back in the app.
- Phone camera scanning
- Handwriting recognition
- Question detection
- Automatic paper matching
- Result & feedback back in the app
Coming to iPhone, iPad and Android.
Every paper you need. One place.
Stop digging through old websites and folders. Method keeps your supported maths papers organised, searchable — and checked against the current syllabus.
Only questions on the syllabus you'll actually sit.
Old papers contain topics that have since been dropped. Method analyses each exam board's current syllabus, tags every question to it, and removes the ones no longer examined — so you never revise something that can't come up.
- ✓9709/32 Jun 2025 Q6 · Product ruleIn syllabus
- ✓9709/31 Nov 2023 Q4 · Modulus equationsIn syllabus
- ✕9709/03 Nov 2016 Q7 · Newton–RaphsonRemoved · no longer examined
- ✕9709/12 Jun 2015 Q3 · Set notationRemoved · moved to IGCSE only
Syllabus analysis is per board and per year of entry. Removed questions stay available if you choose to see them; topic mapping is illustrative.
More than correct or incorrect.
Method looks at how you reached your answer, not just the final number.
The curve has equation y = x² sin x. Find the exact value of the gradient at x = π.
- M1 ✓Correct substitution
- A1 ✓Correct simplification
- M1 ✓Correct differentiation method
- A0 ✕Sign error — cos π = −1, not 1
- A1 ✓Correct final substitution
Your approach is correct. The lost marks come from a sign error during simplification, not from misunderstanding the method.
Your page, marked like a script.
Whether you scanned it or wrote it on iPad, Method highlights the exact sections it wants to talk about — a tick where the step earns its mark, an amber flag where it could be better — with a brief note on each.
The curve C has equation y = x2 sin x.
Find the exact value of the gradient of C at the point where x = π.
[7]Marking you can talk back to.
AI marking can be slightly wrong on a borderline step. Agree or dispute every mark — Method re-checks it against the mark scheme, and keeps a running record of exactly where your marks go.
- M1 ✓ Correct substitutionProduct rule set up with u = x², v = sin x
- A1 ✓ Correct simplificationDerivatives of both parts correct
- M1 ✓ Correct differentiation methodProduct rule applied in the right order
- A0 ✕ Sign errorcos π written as 1 — borderline: could be a slip
- A1 ✓ Correct final substitutionFollow-through on your own value
Audited marking. AI can hallucinate. Every mark is produced by one model, then independently checked by separate reader, marker and mark-scheme auditor agents before you see it. Where they disagree, the mark is flagged as borderline and the scheme is shown by default.
AI marking is a practice guide. Disputed marks are checked against published mark schemes where available; only the exam board can award an official grade.

Ten minutes or two hours.
Drill a single topic, sit a full paper under timed conditions, or let Method write you a fresh question — every mode is marked the same way and feeds the same weak-point map.
By topic, in minutes
Pick a topic and Method pulls real past-paper questions on just that skill — five at a time, marked instantly.
The whole paper, timed
Sit a complete paper against the real clock. Method marks every question and shows which topics and which lines cost you.
New questions, real mark schemes
Run out of past papers on a topic? Method writes a fresh, exam-style question in the board's own style — with an AI mark scheme (M / A / B marks) written before you start.
Find the exact value of ∫₀^π x² sin x dx, showing each stage of your working.
Generated questions and their mark schemes are written by Method's AI in the style of the selected exam board. They are practice material, not official exam-board content.
Finish the paper. Know exactly where you stand.
Estimated performance is indicative only and depends on the relevant exam-board grade boundaries for that session.
Stop losing the same marks.
Method remembers the patterns behind your mistakes and helps you target them before exam day.

Turn old mistakes into new questions.
Method searches the past-paper library for questions that test exactly what you got wrong, so every practice set is built from your own marking history.
You struggled with integration by parts.

“I used to have five different sites bookmarked for papers and mark schemes. Now I just open Method.”
“Seeing M1 and A1 marks directly beside my working makes reviewing past papers completely different.”
“The marks log showed I was dropping accuracy marks on the last line, not method marks. Fixing one habit was worth a grade.”
“When I disagreed with a mark, it quoted the mark scheme back at me. Half the time I was wrong — and that’s exactly what I needed to know.”

IGCSE Mathematics, AS Level Mathematics, A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Version 1 is Mathematics only. Physics, Chemistry and Biology will follow.
Papers from Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, AQA and OCR are supported where available. Method is not affiliated with or endorsed by any exam board unless explicitly stated.
Yes. On iPad you open the paper inside Method and write over it with Apple Pencil or any compatible stylus. Your handwritten working is read and marked step by step.
Yes. Complete the paper on real paper, then photograph it with the Method app on iPhone or Android. Method detects the question, matches it to the right paper and marks your working.
Method is trained on real student working, including crossed-out lines and untidy notation. If a step is genuinely unreadable, it tells you which line rather than guessing.
Working. Method awards method marks (M), accuracy marks (A) and independent marks (B) the way an examiner would, so you see exactly where a mark was earned or lost.
Yes — type a code such as 9709/32 or a phrase like "May June 2025 Paper 3" and the library filters instantly.
Yes. Method analyses each exam board's current syllabus for your year of entry, tags every past-paper question to it and removes questions on topics that are no longer examined. You can still show them if you want.
Yes. Variants 1, 2 and 3, regional and time-zone variants, and every component (Pure, Statistics, Mechanics, Further) are organised by year and session.
Marking follows examiner-style criteria and is checked against published mark schemes where available. It is designed as a practice tool; an official grade can only come from the exam board.
No. Method helps you practise and understand marking; it does not certify results and estimated grades are indicative only.
Yes. Android is part of the launch. Scan your paper with the camera and the result, examiner-style marks and feedback come straight back into the app on your phone.
Yes. iPhone scans paper and returns results and feedback in the app; iPad adds the full Apple Pencil writing workflow. Everything syncs between them.
Yes — your first week is on us. Every new account gets the full Pro experience free for 7 days, with no card needed. After that you can stay on the free plan, which marks 3 random questions a day, or upgrade to Pro.
